Poem

The World Aflame

Blazing, flickering embers Burn with hot white rage Engulfing the world In endless flames

Born from a hunger A starving, unquenched desire Of sweet, sweet revenge Sets the world on fire

Anger, unquelled, unmatched A terror sets aflame And I watch quietly As the world burns, ablaze

If I set the world on fire You would watch it burn If I showed you the entire Story, of it, you would learn

A story, of pain and anguish Festered and left to grow Tainted and warped With unspoken sorrow

The anger grew and grew And slowly, slowly The power in my hands twisted Into something new, mine only

I would set your world on fire Right before your eyes, And you would do nothing Just as you did nothing, when it was I

I, who worked and suffered and hurt While you stood and watched, unhelpfully I will set the world, your world, on fire And you, you all, will watch it burn, beside me.
